Daytona 125 jumping out of gear!

Hey guys just posting this for a mate! When he rides his daytona 125 (1N234) it always jumps out of ! He said its 2nd gear whether its from 1-2 or 2-3! Im not the most mechanically minded so i told him i wouldnt have a clue! any suggestions? anyone had the same problem?

i have had the same problem with my old daytona motor. it is a fault with the 125cc motors with the one down gear change. but it can be fixed. i can explain the problem and how to fit it but it is a little hard without photos. i might try and find some or let Barnesd09 help with this one.

hmmm, pretty sure roost has this same issue with his daytona..

i believe there is an all up gearbox conversion available for these to correct it..

but ill give you worst case and simplest scenario..

2nd gear dogs are worn and need replacing or maybe even the gear fork..

gear drum needs modifying because the detent spring loses its tension.

but really your not going to know till you pull it apart..

dont get scared as you do not need to spend money to get the new gear box put in. its the gear selector drum (star) that is the problem

by the way this engine is brand new ridden 3 times!

yeah it doesnt matter as its a design fault

Hello Guys, this thread seems very helpfull, where abouts do I get the new parts needed OR can i modify the old.

Having a few probs downloading the links..........im pretty good mechanically, is this something you can do at home in your garage
