Durability

I have been investigating putting a chinese engine in my postie bike, and the guys on here have been more than helpful.

Another question i have is that i am planning on doing a 5000km trip on the bike, i have already done one 400km trip and am wondering if it would be worth my while to get the original engine redone.

i would prefer to have a bit more power, so the chinese 140cc engine is looking good, but i also dont want it to break down and get stranded. It will be doing lots of long 6-7 hour days of riding highways, just wondering peoples opinions on this, if anyone else has done similar?

some engines go forever some dont go at all lol(if ya know what i mean)

you could work the hell out of the original engine

i could. but the gearbox is stuffed. the clutch is stuffed. and it vibrates really badly and have a feeling that someone has bored it out before.

i reckon for durabilities sake, i'd go the LIfan 150... not the fastest motor out there, but it has been around for awhile, and has a proven track record, provided it's set up properly, and starting methods are adhered to... Wouldnt bother with a YX motor, dont have lighting coil standard, the Lifan does...
Lifan be an easier fit exhaust wise into a postie, and with the right gearing will have the legs that the stock 110 doesnt... ie : easier to maintain cruising speed without flogging the guts out of it...
If you're looking at doing long k's, remember to pack tools for doing valve clearances, as these will need regular attention doing this many k's in one hit..
