Just do as per http://www.miniriders.com.au/forum/tech-talk/19938-fastace-rear-shock.html#post194064 and see if a 550 can fit his crap shock. It'll still be HEAPS better, and the cost is SFA.

Later on he might want a better shock, and good chance the 550 spring will fit on a newer shock when that time comes.

550 or 800 springs: Just work out the spring length and internal ID is a match for the shock you will use.

No. Well just partly, that is only on the very beginning of the spring compress. Spring preload (the nut adjustment) does not change the spring rate.

Just get something cheap like these which has a soft spring. They are a crap shock but for what you have said it may be good enough for your little brother untill he wants to try jumping anyway.

he does jump little jumps n most of the jumps u have 2 flatland them because they have no downramps.lol!!! do u reakon a 550lbs or 250lbs spring would fit my shock or any other shock than the fastace bs22ar shock cause they have 8mm mount holes n mine r 10mm mounts!!

Yeah you could try a softer spring and see if that softens it up enough for him. I may even have an old softer spring that you could have if its the right length you need. What length is the current spring?

yeh its 13cm from the top of the spring of the bottom of the spring!!i measured the spring as it is on the pic!!

the best way to measure would be take the spring out of the shock

Also the bottom shock mount looks like its done up too tight which is not good for the shock.

The shortest spring I have is 200mm so it wont fit your shock.

just feed your brother macas for a week and he should be a good weight for the shock
