yep I would try what sagaone suggests. Use a dremmel cut off the end so its flat cut a deep flathead into it. Heat it up to loosen the loctite then bash it with a impact driver. I've done this a few times and it works a charm

i havent had much luck with easy outs..... find they break off inside the bolt then cant drill it out cause the ezy out is tempered steel and harder than a drill bit.
I say just drill and tap a new hole..

:p cheap lousy impact driver bit:p get a new tip or two? hard to find them though...

start off with just a lump of 12mm bar(reo rod, an old bolt, whatever) and give the screw a good wack just like you would with an impact driver. its all i ever do.

failing that, yep, the old ezi outs:) and cause its only an M6 thread, youll want the tiny one... like 5mm

you could just drill it out, then use a helicoil... cause if you drill it out it will have to go up a size... and M7 is a really hard thread to find, M8 is huge, etc etc...

and yeah, they leave the lighting coil out cus it is only meant for going on the dirt....

got some loctight Freeze & Release and a new bit the impact driver, gotta go to work soon so I'll have a crack at it tommorow

freeze and release will only work if its a corroded/rusted part etc etc, the impact driver will do the trick, this is what happens with loctite if there is no primer applied to the bolts before the threadlocker is applied over time it bakes on and end's up turning out like a heavily rusted bolt

Heat works well for loosening loctite. get one of those little butane pencil torches from jaycar or something. That should be hot enough to soften the loctite. Dont drill it unless you absolutely have to! I don't know how good u are at that stuff but its a tricky job to do well.

If ever you have to drill a tapered head screw or any other type of bolt out ... drill dead centre of the screw head with a 3 mm drill bit to about 4 mm deep (or the estimated depth of the screw/bolt head) ... then redrill going up gradually in drill sizes until the screw /bolt head pops off leaving everything else intact ... Once the stator screw heads are off , the stator can be removed leaving the thread sections of the screws sticking out neatly in place ... You can usually either undo the threaded part by hand or use Vise Grips since the heat from the drilling breaks the Loctite seal ...

I replace the stock screws with hardened allen head screws since they are easier to get out next time ... and only use blue Loctite or a smear of Silastic on the threads ...

Sometimes after drilling the pilot hole into the screw head you can resharpen a bigger sized drill bit to cut in reverse and use reverse on the drill ... Then when you push hard , the drill bit tries to grab and breaks the lock of the taper causing the screw to back out ... Maybe a using a hammer drill in reverse would also work ...

sweet I've got lots of good ideas now, since I bought the freeze and release I'm gonna try that first, then if no go out comes the mini blowtorch which I'm putting my money on. surely it'll be out by then but if not I'll drill out the heads and work from there without the preassure of the bolts locking down.
the chinamen must've broke their budget and splashed out on some red locktight, I've never had this much trouble getting a bolt loose.

yea cactus I replace bolts with hi-tensil allen heads wherever I can, they're so much easier to work with

red threadlocker will crack at 50NM(262,271,277,290,2760), blue i think is 20NM(243,222)

attacked it with the freeze/release then the blowtorch and they popped right out with the impact driver.
they didn't even have locktight on them, why the hell are they so bloody tight? how do they get em in there too cuz unlike every other bolt on this bike these ones weren't stripped from factory

yeah, as i said, i usually just whack them with a bit of bar... does exactly the same job as an impact driver... and yeah they seem to tighten up, cause i can undo them when i first put em back in, but not after running the engine...

but cactus advice was the best for flogged out screw heads... drilling out the countersink...top notch;)
