Hey I tried a carlsbad on my 450, and it was tough, but the grip was not that great or predictable. Maybe their mini tyre is different/better but I doubt it. Life is short, I'd suggest you just get the Scorp and try it. I think you'll be impressed. Once worn out you can put the carlsbad back on (if you wish). It just means storing your carlsbad and finding $60 now rather than later.i've tough of getting a new rear. i wont bother untill i wear my current carlsbad out, then ill put on a MX Scorp.
Have you changed tyres much? If not (or for anyone else), the main trick is to have some dish washing liquid and a 1" brush, heavy duty boots, and strong hands. You should only need the levers at the very beginning and end of the job. Pull the tube out early when removing a tyre. Pre-insert the tube into the tyre early when putting the tyre on. Put the rim lock in the rim, then "fit" the bare rim and lock "into" the tyre+tube with the rim lock hanging down, so the rim lock goes into place, and you lift the valve stem up thru the rim hole and put the little nut on the end of the valve stem. With soap on the bead most of the tyre will go on by hand. Oh and with the two tyre levers, start the job at the valve, and end the job at the valve when putting the tyre on. The rim lock should be 15cm from the valve on a 12" wheel.
