Nah the gap to the rotor was about 3mm. When I started it up about 8:30 pm it revved off its chops!!

Good sign that the old one was struggling, couldn't run for long because the "fun police" came out and went if it's/her chops!!! LOL.

So I'll reset the idle tomoz and see where I go, I set the spark timing as read 1.1 mm BTDC but I used verniers on a bolt with a nut to do it. Put the bolt down the plug hole and adjusted the nut at TDC then moved the bolt 1.1 mm and set the timing, if you techo's get my drift!! The over rev could be caused by to much advance but I'm pretty sure I'm in the ballpark. Will know tomoz with further investigation!!

nice one ringo
ive seen two strokes run backwards if timing out !!
also air leaks can cause reving up [im sure you know]
god im gunna have to up my game to keep up to the ktms

Timing was right as I expected, had to wind the idle screw out about 5 turns to bring the idle down 8o..
The carby was setup to compensate for crap stator!!!! I'm much happier now I thought I was in for another rush job to get it ready. I'll give your CDI a run tomoz Greeny and let you know, axle sliders on the front and peg sliders and she's D.O.N.E.!!!!!

So you got a new stator? 5 turns!!! wow. fingers crossed for my CDI. the reports are its a worthy upgrade especially with your pipe.

yeah KTM should have been red in color not orange as that is what your bank balance pushes towards. You must be getting pumped for the racing!!

Yeah mate well pumped, I got all the sliders on last night and barring any mishap the bike is ready to rock!!! The Gero track is awesome to look at...... I hope it's just as good to ride!!!

hey not too much testing and tuning !!
cant have you getting to much practise

Any word on my CDI last night Ringo? go or no-go?

Jesse has now bought a PSTO with V2 head so now has his own bike. i spoke to him about Titles and the ASBK and he is in for sure. his mate has a PSTO as well and hopefully will race. He was looking pretty fast last night for the only ride he has done since the Aus titles. he also rides knee down now. not like this.

yeah I'm the mini-motard pioneer over here!!

So race the bigger bikes or race by myself, I'm out there to keep the bigger boys honest.... LOL!!!

yes it was a linkage Jesse has setup. he does not like the amount of sag the linkage provides and needs a new spring. he is thinking a KX65 spring at the moment. it didnt look to bad with him riding it. i forgot it was a linkage.

i followed one at the Aus titles and it sat on its arse coming out of the corners. Just have to work out what spring it needs.

That's about what I suspected. It would be sweet if the KTM spring works out as then we'd finally know of a bike that would be a beast on tarmac and off (anyone interested in a tarded Nitrous? :p)...

I managed to pull 8th place out of 14 starters on an 85!!!! Spent a lot of the days dive bombing a 525 ktm and a wr450!!

It was a pretty tight track which suited the 85 for sure but I was losing positions down the two straights from time to time!
