Mini Motard ride

My new motard ride. Pit Pro 125RR with motard rims I laced up and some racing rubber. Morwell tomorrow, can't wait!

Looks good. Is there an association or website or something for mini motards in Aus if you want to get involved. Do they just race at go kart tracks?

Heya,

There isn't a dedicated mini motard forum, just a few different dirt bike ones. this one is pretty good, there is the VPBA one and the MMMCI one. MMMCI is dead, VPBA isn't much better. this one is pretty much the best I've found.

I ride at South Morang. Had a ride day at Morwell Hillclimb yesterday with the VPBA. went very very well. MMMCI is racing this Sunday at South Morang and tomorrow night, Tuesday night, there is a ride day down at South Dandenong which I'll be going to with my motard. should be great!

Are you still running the 14"/12" set up? Where bouts did you get those tyres and what model are they?

So there is racing under lights at south morang tomorrow(tuesday night!) what time!!?? wonderin if i got down there with a camera if i can get out on the track to get some decent shots.....
Would love to know more info on the racing season they have up there, i believe they raced full sized motards there not the sunday been the one before!? correct??
Fill us in on more info and the event tomorrow night mate!

Hey all,

tonight is a VPBA ride day at Dandenong South go kart track. The first one they've ever run. should be fun I hope. I'll be down there with my new pitpro 125RR and my old 110 motards. South Morang run a night session on Thursday night (I think, don't quote me on that yet) for $15. Damn good value if you ask me. the guy who runs the show, Darrel, is a great bloke who runs in the motard class and has a few bikes.

My wheels are a stock PP 12"x1.85 rear with a 12"x1.85 rear rim spoked onto a standard front hub. works great. I have a set of bridgestone tires on them at the moment. Still sorting out suspension at the moment.

Hillz. Yer Chinese bike is fine for Victorian Motard racing as long as it is only 125cc chuck on some road tyres and orf you go.
Mini Motard bikes have to be Chinese origin Sorry No Honda's allowed Dude !!

Hey Flarry.To race it is best if you fit road tyres first,it is too hairy racing with knobbies.As long as your bike is in one piece and has 2 operating brakes your laughing....Chuck on a motorbike helmet, and get out there and race.

125 or less, plus some tracks make you have a oil catch tank & oggy knobs or SK8 board wheels on the axles so you don't damage the track, but mainly all you need is street tyres

my CRF50 88 was wickid for the motard but the 110 chinas had the extra gear on me down the staight...

Hey all,

Mini motard racing here in Melbourne is:

"No bigger than 125cc chinese engines and no bigger than 12" tires"

Although they allow 14" in the front because it's no advantage, probably a disadvantage.

I'm sure most of the top 125cc bikes have japanese components etc, and I'm sure some run 140cc or bigger engines. I ran a 110 in the 125cc class. It wasn't too bad but I'd lose a couple of bike lengths down the straight.

Really, all you need is motard tires, oil catch tanks, lockwired oil plugs etc. That's about it.

Great fun though and now I'm on a 125 hopefully I'll have similar power to them.
