My bros pitpro is leaking fuel

We tried to clean it just before with no cleaner or compressed air because we don't have it yet. No luck :( We blew into it too. However I did see some black stuff come out. It was just this black powder stuff. I'll see if I can get some carby cleaner tomorrow to see if that'll stop it.

We also didn't unscew any of the bronze parts either so it wasn't really a proper clean that's why it didn't work I guess.

Also what is the float and what is the needle valve? And I'm not really quite sure what you mean by the jets.

mate you should just be able to tell by the light, if you can see the end of the tunnel then it should be clear
 
It was late when we did it so didn't really have that much time, but I didn't check the bronze bits. I basically just checked the steel pipe bits connected to the main bit of the carby. If they're the things you mean by tunnel then that was clear.

I'll have to try the other parts then.

nah i don't think you took the float bowl off which is where your problem most likely lyes
 
Is the float bowl the bit with the plastic or whatever it is hose hanging out? Where my fuel comes out of?

when you get a chance clean the jets out (the bronze bits)

because the jet holes are so small any tiny bit of shit can get caught in there
its a must do job if you have this problem
 
the float bowl is the big cover with 4 screws on the bottom part of the carby that has a hose hanging off it

it looks kinda like this with the cover off:

the big piece of plastic is the float, and the needle valve hangs off it. thats where a piece of junk is holding the valve open even when its full so it just leaks out the overflow hose.
 
Fixed it! Got the spray today and sprayed all the jets, holes etc.

Just gotta make a filter for it now. Is it hard?

nope. go to a motorbike shop and buy a small fuel filter, cut the fuel hose comming from the tank and stick it in
 
go to auto pro i got a fuel filter for like $3 and it works fine. real good quality and easily come apart for cleaning.
 
I'll have a look at Supercheap. What are the good ones to get and do I need a certain sort?
 
Ok I'll do that when I take my bike (not my bros that we just cleaned the carby for) to get the timing fixed. Is there also a certain part of the fuel hose to put the filter on?
