yeah they do, the timing is all wrong on them.
some give you full advance at idle, and others can give you way too much advance in the higher rpms.

Good to know thanks. I put the stock cdi back on for now, and look for a takegawa cdi and coil for next spring

I picked up a couple ignition coils/wires from eBay, I didn't realize there were differences in the orange "high performance" wires and coils on eBay, but some are better than others and the ones I bought were the better ones.

Bought 2 since it was just under 25$ CDN to my door. I took the coil off of one and attached it to my ngk wire, the other one is going to be untouched I just wanted to do a comparison with the stock wire and coil vs the NGK wire with high performance coil vs the high performance wire and coil, I'll post up the results tomorrow night

Yeah there are a heap of different coils around for Pitbikes/Scooters.
it all depends on how many windings there are in the primary and secondary coils, to what they put out.
just watch out, too many windings and they can put too much load on your cdi, and cause them to die quickly

Generally they have a .8 - 1 Ohm resistance in the primary windings and 3 Ohms on the secondary side

Thank u very much for the info, it's very much appreciated! What are some of the name brands of the cdis? I have a 5 pin cdi and so far the only takegawa ones over come across were on eBay, and there were only about 3-4 of them, but all of them were 6 pin cdis, 2 plugs joined together, one with 4 pinouts and one with 2 pinouts. The eBay no name "racing" cdis have cdis for all the diff pinout styles, which is mainly why I bought it, and the fact that it was 5$ lol.
