That's OK .. Just don't go touching the new manifold except to remove any big casting lumps or irregularities and to make the carb end of it slightly larger than the carb outlet bore ... leave it as it is at the head port end , the step will block reversion pulses from making it back to the carb ......
A lot of people don't know it but reversion pulse waves cause the intake air to make several passes over the mainjet .... picking up fuel each time , enriching the mixture , and causing the engine to run boggy and be hard to tune .......
