Hey guy's, im new to the forum and this is my first post.
I recently purchased a pit bike so i could ride to work. I live on a rail way line between cane fields. I know the property owners so i have the all clear in that respect.
Anyways, i have riden twice now, and the ride was a little more difficult than i had originally expected.
I am 6'2, and 95 kg's, so i know i'm pushing the pit bike limit here....However, i would like some advice on modifying the bike to better suit my needs. I am more than happy it's it's power output, infact i rarely get past 3rd gear and it's more than enough...
My main problem is the wheel size, and the suspension. I have 14'' wheels both front and back, and what appears to be the standard suspension setup. I have looked at online stores aswell as Ebay ect, and i have come across lots of parts, but i don't know if they will fit, work, or even be suitable.
My front wheel gets caught in ruts very easily and become quite a handful to hang on to, and also means i have to go really slow. A couple of time i have had the front wheel come out from underneath me when going through some mud.
The front forks are about 75% (guessing) compressed when i sit on the bike, and the back spring is about %50 (again just guessing here) So it doesen't take much to bottom out, which combined with the above mentioned issues, makes riding it quite difficult, time consuming, and also tiring.
I don't know what type of bike it is so i will just put a picture up and i'm sure one of the more experienced members will recognise it. What can i do to get the bike better suited to my needs?
