Hey guys i got my Pro X 250 today and wanted to know if anyone has installed the brake pads before? My bike came with no instructions and im having diffuculty trying to figure out which way the brake shoe goes, which pads go where and everything along those lines.

There are 4 pads, 2 thicker ones, 2 thinner ones with a line etched out of the middle. There are 2 shoes (one for the front and one for the back obviously) and it has a small clip mechanism that i have guessed clips onto the inside of the caliper. . BUT WHICH WAY?

i have thrown the pads onto the front just so i could wheel the bike inside for the night and work on it in the garage.

also if you own a Pro X 250 , where the fk is the sump drain plug? theres no screw on the bottom of the engine only one on the left hand side with a large chrome polish on it.

any help will be GREATLY appreciated.. and any help is more help than atomik gave me.

Here are some pics so ppl know what im talking about.

you worked it out yet? ive never had to put these brake pads in, but the thinner ones should go at the back and the thicker ones at the front. but i dunno how they clip in i would have to have a look for me to tell you. but im sure many ppl on here have done it before so they should be able to help you

These chinesse brakes contain abspetos, customs wont let the bikes in unless the brake pads are removed from what i heard
Thicker pads are for the front, the clip just sits ontop of the pads when you put them in the calipiers

ive put the brakes in, i put one thin and one thick in both the front and back (cant rememba what sides). I dont think that you can put the 2 thick ones in the front because i dont think that leaves enough clearance between them to fit the disk. Ive had enough stuffing around with the bike for today i will do it tomorow if its a good day to be inside otherwise il b out playing golf

trust me the two thick black pads go in the front n the thin ones in the back when i did mine i rang atomik cause i wasent sure he told me put the thin ones in the front and the black pads in the back i tryed that the front went in but not the back then i changed them i put the thick black pads in the front n the thin pads in the back they went stright in and ive had no problems since u will fit the disc in the front with the two thick black pads

no worries i will have a go tomorow. Mine are all the same colour shown in the picture (one is thick and one is thin). either way i think the brakes are pretty **** after a little ride around the block.

i had a black thick pair n the thin ones were the same colour as yours in the pic i put thick ones in front n thin set in back and ive had no probs they eork fine

wat do u think of the bike anyways wats the power like i got the 140 n i like it wouldnt mine c how the 250s go

thats how i have it atm, thick on the piston side, thin on the opposite.

The thicker will front in the front and leave enough room for the disc/rotor, they did on my ProX250 (oct)2007

U can buy better pads at bike shops. Gold fern are the brand (Carbon ceramic).... Take ur old pads in and get the sale dude to match it up from the book... easy peasy.... only problem is they cost $50 *ouch*
They do stop better though
