Hi Guys,

I've got a Dirtmax Dominator 160cc with a bad kick back problem.

I have already replaced the starter gears once.

I just did my oil and found large amounts of metal stuck to the sump plug. (photos below)

I think it is safe to say that these are starter gear teeth. If so, and the bike is giving me no trouble, should I just keep riding?

Also I recently adjusted my carby and rode for 3 hours. Do you recon the photo below of the spark plug shows evidence a good fuel air mix?

Sorry for being such a newbie guys.

Cheers

Clinton

Wow that is alot of stuff outta your motor mate..

Not sure if there kick start gear looks a bit thin, looks like a casing of some

kind.. But wow thats a lot of stuff champ..

Dont get me wrong but are you using the clutch to change up & down gears??

Yeah, the plug is supposed to be a browny colour like that im pretty sure.
How old is the bike?

spark plug colour looks reasonably good..

as for the kicker gears.. were all the gears changed (3 in total) 1 on the kicker shaft, the 1 in-between the kicker shaft one and the that slides in the back of the clutch basket..

failing to change all 3 can result in them failing earlier than usual as they will have dents, chips, defects on the teeth and never mesh properly..

having said all that.. did you remove all the broken teeth from the first time round changing the gears??

i think its worth at least an inspection of the current gears..and tooth by tooth unfortunately, just to be sure there is no damage..

Only two starter gears were changed and one tooth never found, suspected to have been lost in an oil change but who knows.

And the bike has about 11 hours on it
