Kinda sorta finished off the bike to at least make it rideable , chain sorted for now and will get a gold rk instead but a chains a chain , sorted out a leak I had with the fuel tap , played around with the way the tank sits so the plastics and seat are much straighter , one of the tab son the subframe that the seat hooks into was leant over to one side causing it to pull the plastics skew but all good now, fitted a kill switch so I don't cop a boot every time I turn it of lol, finally sorted all my fouling issues had to cut the brake pedal mounting rid down by bout 5mm n I took a tiny bit off the back of the kick starter (sorry Brendo) , it's almost perfect . Fitted a chain guide which is temporary (i had a two brothers one one that i was going to put on but someone who will remain nameless stole it and I'm waiting for a replacement
, actually got today off for my first day off in over a month n instead of sleeping which would have been great , it was even better to take her out on her maiden voyage !!! I teed up with Greg and it was on , had a blast , she feels good but as the motor was setup for a limo class bike originally it needs a bit of a Buzz treatment
we will open up the inlet and let it breathe like my other 88 as the stock 50 port is no bigger than my little finger prob smaller , hook up a better Cdi and coil and possibly play around with the carb, ill also at some point pull the forks down again as the kit I installed made a good difference but I'm not happy with the forwards / backwards flog in the fork leg , it's still pretty bad and the kit didn't have the little bushings that are at the bottom of the spring , the pin holes are flogged in those little bushes so I'm hoping it will improve a bit if I at least replace them?? If all else fails ill chuck the zokes on instead or who knows lol here's some happy snaps
Finally got to go for a ride today n take her out for the first time , I was like a little kid
Gonna start chasing down some finishing touches now
