I had to choose an option so it was heavy stuff, but heavy like metal, lead, enriched uranium, not heavy like aliminium alloy I.E. linkin park. New metal if you will. I have even seen it spelt Nu-Metal. Worse than an invectious disease.

Metal is the main constituent of my CD case, but I also enjoy aussie hip hop. Draft, Hilltop hoods, Downsyde.

I also agree with skylar. It can be any genre and a great song. and vica verca.

I will almost listen to anything as long as the person singing the song, wrote the song, and it is played at a volume that is respectful to the song. Most of the time that means, ear bleeding lound.

im into heavy stuff but linkin park only, really.
but aussie hip hop like hilltop hoods!
support aussie hip hop boiiiyz!

Name some more Skip Hop buddy, you just listen to HTH?

I'm probably going to get hammered for this but anyway....

pbk and TyD... your constant hassling of atomik boy is getting very old. Maybe leave the kid alone for a bit.

I simply just wanted to know what other Skip Hop he listens to, as I personally don't count HTH as Skip Hop anymore as they have gone main stream...

AUSSIE HIP-HOP & EMINEM

Blink 182, Sum 41 etc. Punk...and some Jack Johnson!

HATE Radio/Pop Sh*t hahaha

I NEVER listen to the Radio :grinning-smiley-003

what do you mean by "main stream".

how would you differentiate "the calling" from "the hard road" and "state of the art".

what aspects of "state of the art" makes their music "main stream"?

do you mean you dont like hilltop hoods because they are more popular than they were 3 years ago?

yeh cool TYD. each to their own i suppose man.

but when I think of a band going mainstream i think of offspring americana, where even dexter says it was when they were most popular in mainstream music. even though it diddnt sell as many records as smash.i think what killed the offspring was their change or record label and producer.

people reckon silverchair went mainstream too, with neon ballroom. but people dont realise that when neon ballrom came out, these guys were fresh out of highschool, drugs, girls, puberty, all influenced his music. musicians evolve, like their audiences. yeh we would all love them to make a frogstomp 2, frogstomp 3, frogstomp 4, but they write songs to express their feelings, and they are not always feeling like horny little invincible teenagers their whole life.

fyi, if you dont already understand, I am into my music. just a little bit.

09crf_149- I am all over the place with my music mate. I like Offspring, Good Charlotte, Yellow Card, Bowling for Soup, Simple Plan, Greenday, HTH, Butterfingers, Bias B, Downsyde, Funkoars, Phrase, Bloody Beatroots and things like that... And every so often Slipknot and things like that..

Westy- Yes, you are very right... I was a huge fan of The Offspring.. But yeah, they did seem to go a bit main steam. All their old stuff was awesome... Some of their new stuff was aswell. Just wasn't the same.

Who cares if something is mainstream? I hate the whole alternative/mainstream argument. If you sell albums and are signed to a major label you are, by definition, mainstream. Doesn't necessarily mean you are crap.

Nevermind sold however million copies, so Nirvana became a mainstream band. If that album had sold 100,000 copies (which was the pre-release projection), it would still have been the same album. It doesn't suddenly become crap because it became popular.

Some of the most mainstream music has actually been some of the most subversive and most artistically creative. Think The Beatles and The Beach Boys, they were doing some amazingly experimental things.
Do you think Bob Dylan or Neil Young have ever compromised their artisitc integrity in their illustrious careers? No way....

Mainstream doesn't always mean it's crap.... just as low record sales and an indie label doesn't mean something's awesome.

I never said music is crap because it goes mainstream.. I said it's crap now that it's mainstream.. Their music changes when they go mainstream.. And I liked their music before hand...

PS. Thanks for the neg rep Skylar...

we all know skylar listens to the bee gees lol

now if i had to pick a favorite genre it would have to be rap hands down snoop d o double G is the godfather of rap and wont be beaten i love anything from ice cube, dr dre, easy e, eminem, ludicrus, krs one supafly, kurupt. i can not get enough of some of the sub noize **** kottonmouth kings, big b and dirtball. i will take american rap and hip hop over aussie **** any day especially if you want me to listen to those pair of posers bliss n esso who struggle to sample there own ****. dont mind HTH so much at least they have some talent and cred.
i've seen much better and more talented aussie mc's than the above by far i'll take anythin from obese records before bliss n esso thats for sure. like dialelectrix, spit syndicate, anything bonez touches is gold. dont blame me i grew up listen to g-**** long before any aussie's dreamed of being a rap artist

all good music is so personal and there's so much talent out there in most genre's
