I'd like to look at putting 160cc in it, any recommendations?!

Whats your budget? I would go a gpx hi comp 125 from dhz over a 140. The gpx 125 is probably the best "bang for your buck" chinese engine on the market, followed closely by the zongshen 160ho. Gpx 125 is around 460 delivered, the 160 660 (top of my head prices, not 100 percent accurate) and then there is the b.f.g of chinese engines the daytona anima 190fdx. Expect that bad boy to set you back close to 1400 bucks, but for a 190cc 4 valve monster what do you expect!
There are bbk and race heads available for both the gpx 125 and zongshen 160ho, but the parts available for the gpx are a bit harder to get, and a fair chunk dearer than the tb parts easily found for the 160s.

Yeah Brenton got one to put in his DHZ without a problem, was $520 inc delivery to SA

I baught my z160ho online from the atomik website. Only thing missing was the oil cooler which i got through braaap for $60. Really wide one with another inline oil filter.uploadfromtaptalk1433042613585.jpg

Thanks for the reply mate. The GPX sounds like good value for money! As nice as the Daytona would be, I'd rather put that $$$ towards a big bike :)

How does the 125 GPX compare to say the zongshen 160 performance & reliability wise?! Sounds like them GPX 125's fairly scream! What else would I need to consider if I purchased either of these engines? Would the mikuni pz26 carb from the motovert do the job for the GPX125 or would I need to consider buying a new carb?!

cheers

I would say comparable top end between the 2, with the 160 naturally having more torque. The gpx is a real rev hungry little engine, especially compared to a stock 160 which all seem to have rather weak valve springs stock. You could tune the mikuni to suit the gpx with a jet change. Im not sure what size jets you would need as im not familiar with the mikuni jet sizes, but if you can find a conversion chart between keihin jets and mikuni jets you want what ever mikuni jets are the same as keihin 37 pilot and 96 main jet as a starting point.

Oko 26mm is probably best for the gpx125
jets are 34/100 or 36/100 dont remember what mine was

Mine was faster than my 160ho

Soooo, instead of spending another $700 on a new engine for the Expert, I went out & bought this with the 160 in it already & bigger boots for trail riding :)

Nice choice on bike mate. That thing will last you for ages.
You must be in Vic cause there is only one place that you can get a vert like that in a big wheel and thats Motorbike city.
Youll have to come out to Ride park some day for a ride. Always like meeting new people.

Yeah, I figured I may aswell just get what I was after in the first place & this came up for the right price :)

Where are you located Snaptrax?

Im out near Ballarat man. I ride out Ride park most weekends. Let me know if you wanted to come and ride.
