That really sucks .

What happened?

The usual story I guess. Lack of commitment from both parties.
Maybe MR needs to organise a race day??
A annual event.
Interstate battle.
Different state each year.
I put my hand up to help get it organised.

If I could get my local MX track onboard with 50 racing it would be a good midway point for the QLD VS NSW (or even VIC riders) to meet up about half way, I dont know how well it would go down with them though?

Coffs Harbour Motorcycle Club

The track would not be too bad for 50's/minibikes but needs some work especially considering how long it has been around

It may be the same case as many MX clubs & bigger bike riders, They have very negative attitudes towards the mini bikes, I think that is mainly because of the reputation of the cheap azz piece's of sheet ebay thumpstar style bikes out there that are simply dangerous to ride let alone fall off, Most of the bars are weak crap that could impale ya if they break & the metal & even plastic edges on some are like razor blades or jagged/bread knives

If some examples of some 50 racing/meets that work & are safe etc can be shown to these already established MX clubs then maybe they would get onboard with some mini racing & also help grow their clubs which ofcourse gets them more dollars & in turn helps the whole scene growing even more

If I had some land here I would be building a track right now!

im happy to help but when i spoke to a couple of tracks they were not interested in pitt bikes and insurance is a killer i tried to organize races but no one would or could help me

Yeah, it wont be easy. I have contacts that can help you organise insurance. You just need to find a track that we can use. Doing something similar to the Mini Moto SX that was held in melbourne for a couple of years where they used a BMX track would be epic. Any chance you guys can speak to any of the guys that have held mini moto events before ??

I think the best way to go about it is to start a club of your own.
Organise all your own insurance.MA license canteen staff.ambulance.marshalls ETC and then hire a track out privately.

That is going to take a LOT of cash to do though. You would need to own the land. There is no chance of getting zoned any land by any council in Australia. Also, forget the MA affiliation. If you are going to organise your own insurance, you have no reason to be affiliated with MA. Honestly, they are a bunch of theives who will only do anything to either make a lot of money, or further their own reputation. If it is for the good of the sport, forget about it. QMP is the perfect example. Look at how expensive it is to ride there. It is definitely viable to use a current track, just need to speak to the right people, or build a specific track on the land of someone who would be willing to help, or is a mini rider themselves.

Yeah was going to say that would cost 10 of thousands to get going. No worries I will get my wallet. lol

Maybe one day but there is no way it's financially viable for the site at the moment. We have bigger things to worry about.
