hi guys I'm thinking of getting this bike can it be upgraded power wise and is it good quality thanks read the review and must say thanks for your time

Hi all

Just picked up a Blitz 250 the other day and am in the process of finishing it off properly (greasing everything, loctite every bolt etc)
The previous owner removed the battery and did a bit of a spastic on the wiring however. He removed the ignition stick as it was sticky, and also stuffed around with the battery terminals. I'm trying to put it all back together but its doing my head in and I can't seem to figure it out, mainly because all the pit bike diagrams don't have an ignition switch on them, so i'm not sure where the bypass is

Here are some pics of everything

http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/8716/imag0012kp.jpg - this plug comes off the solenoid, are they the correct way around? and are the battery/starter teminals on the correct posts?
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/8945/imag0015k.jpg - this not connected to anything?
http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/9606/imag0017pp.jpg - as above, only has 1 pin which is a green/red stripe

Note that on the solenoid it had both the positive battery terminal, and the big red wire going to the starter motor on the same peg, of course when hooking up negative to the frame it turned the starter over. I'm assuming thats majorly wrong and the starter motor, and battery positive should be on their own peg (as I have it pictured). But if I hit the starter switch nothing happens. I 'think' the ignition switch is simply a matter of the green and black wires touching each other? i.e. the way it currently is the bike should act like ignition is ON and hitting the e-start should turn the starter motor? but it doesn't, nothing happens. But the bike does still run (when started with the kick starter)

I also have NO IDEA where the fuse is supposed to connect. I assume it goes to the visible red stripped wire in the 3rd/4th photo

Could someone please have a look at their bike and tell me what needs to go where. I have a new switch (toggle switch) to use in place of the ignition which i'm happy to wire up.
Also I have the negative from the battery on about a 10cm long piece of wire connecting to the closest frame bolt. Is that ok or am I ****ing it up?

red to red and green to green mate..
if you can get spark then after that worry about the electric start also get a multi meter and follow wires looking for the highest volt that is only applied when you press the starter button also the starter motor is usually earthed straight to the frame (atleast it is on my roadbike)

Can anyone help me out with if the oil filter needs changing, how do I do it? Is there a better aftermarket product that will fit the blitz? I've heard some bikes dont have a changeable filter. Could be completely wrong haha.

Also, does anyone else get that loud clicking noise as each link of the chain hits the chain roller? Anyone know how to fix this?

Cheers for the Awesome Review, after reading every page, i became a member of this forum to offer my thanks.

It appears as though Thump is no longer apart of the forum which is a shame.

I will be purchasing a 2008 Blitz today with a Gen2 Loncin Aircooled (i think)

I'm a big bloke and am hoping this will be a good entry bike that i can learn to ride on.

Cheers,

Loosey

Should be a great learner for you!

Have a poke about the rest of the forum, there's lots of goodies ;)

Will do mate, i'm sure i'll be able to learn how to tune the carby around here somewhere.

Roger that guys, and yeah I suspected they'd come with a pissy 428.

I've got a 520 here that came with another bike but will wait til the stock chain is wrecked.

Cheers.

when it eventually goes mate, spend the extra money and try and find a set of JT sprockets. there much better than your stock ones,. beleive me. as for a chain i would suggest d.i.d, renthal or rk.

Yeah, big fan of JT and DID here, run them on my VTR and late XR600R.

Also, check out Tutorochainoilers dot com, they have some nifty and inexpensive oilers that are a universal fit to almost any chaindriven bike.

For anyone who runs an OKO 26mm, was it really boggy up top?
The blitz now has a 26mm and while it starts, revs and pulls smooth as butter in the low and midrange, trying to get it revving in 3rd/4th/5th just won't cut it. Seems like its way too rich on the main jet
I pulled the slide on the trail and adjusted the needle 1 leaner and it helped, still a little boggy right up top.
Did notice there's a bit of crap in the carby which certainly wouldn't help the situation (will check filter/tube for rips), but I figure if anything its going to be lean not rich, air leak would also make it lean so dont think there is one

Noticed way back in the thread the recommended was 97-100. DHZ don't have a 97, only 96 or 98, what would be the go?

I just Bought a atomic kuda pro 250 2009 model with only 216kms on it for 990 I no it was a bit pricey but looked really good in the pictures and plan to do the carby upgrade first followed closely by the muffler reduction and also watching some auctions on ebay for some new front forks and triple clamps. also have 1/4 joker throttle in mind. Thanks for all the Info btw this forum is excellent. :)
