that will explain it all if you take the time to look

He didnt have. A pilot jet in his either? Thats the same as mine, and it was the idle screw down that hole. He had the idle screw down the hole which u said the pilot jet should be

the pilot jet is fitted in there blender, it sits deep into the thread

i would try starting it again, with the coil/spark plug lead moved right away from the oil cooler pipes
don't let it touch anywhere,
you could even wrap the lead in insulation tape to help try and prevent it from jumping

i'm thinking the spark might be arcing out on the spring around the oil cooler pipes, where it has melted the insulation on the lead
and causing it it to shut down

im not too sure. your carb is a molkt isnt it? i thought the pilot jet went there? i must be mistaken. also have you set your float properly ?

How do you set your float? So do those molkt carbs have no pilot jet? They just have idle jet instead?

So if nothings wrong with the carby what do you suggest now? Just get new spark plug and coil? And if that doesn't work go to mechanic?

try this and let us know what happens

Ok i will tomoro, but it hasnt melted through the plastic so that its touching the metal inside

ok,
i would still move the oil lines away from it though.
by letting the springs rub on it, they could cause the coil to short out, and cause missfires, or fail totally

the coil isn't loose where it bolts to the frame is it ?
and both the wire terminals that connect to it are not loose ?

Il check this stuff tomorrow and il let you know how i got on. Thanks again for your help guys. Have a good night cheers

Ok guys. So i just tryed to start her. And... She fired !!!! It going. But it was idleing very high and i loosened up the idle screw and it didnt make a difference. Please help. So close haha cheers

yey!
we have a good spark now by the sounds of it.
so did you find a loose wire/terminal, or just moved the oil line away from the coil ?

take the air filter off, and remove the idle speed screw with the spring off the carby.

look at the top cap of the carby, there is a rubber boot on the end of the throttle cable
slide the boot up the cable a couple of inches, there might be an adjuster screw there.
if there is, loosen the nut, and then screw the adjuster back into the carby cap
watch the slide to see if it moves down, if it does, you need it to sit 2mm off the bottom

I havent tryed to adjust the thing at top of carby i just tryed to start it the same as before

I think what was happening before was that when i put carby back in the throttle cable at top of carby was just slightly out so was giving a little bit of throttle thats why it was starting and the idle wasnt affecting it. And now i have put it back in properly it wont start...

so the slide has dropped down now ?

so now you can adjust the slide height with the idle speed screw on the side of the carby
turn it in so the slide lifts 2mm off the bottom of the carby bore
then try starting it again

if it almost starts, go another half a turn on the idle speed screw, till it starts and runs nice

The slide is still up about 6-7mm up from the bottom and the idle screw doesnt do make the slide move
