ok,
there are a couple of things it could be still
slide the rubber boot on the carby top cap up a couple of inches again.
now take the carby top off, unscrew it anticlockwise when looking from the top
once it is loose, slowly pull up on the cap/cable
as you pull it out, you will see a spring and the cable coming out first, then the round slide, and lastly the needle
while you are taking it out, just check that it slides in and out of the carby freely too, not notchy or dragging etc
take note on the slide, there is a long slot, the whole length of the slide
when you go to refit the slide, that slot needs to be on the opposite side of the carby to the idle speed screw.
otherwise it wont sit into the carby properly
take a pic of the slide/needle/spring/cap etc that you removed from the carby if you can
and get a pic of the main bore of the carby from the airfilter side, with the slide removed
