New chain tensioner should be here Monday I hope, slow auspost

Need another swingarm bolt, (10x190)
Need to get some top motor mount bolts (8x110)

Choke on carby hits frame with that manifold, will try slotting a bit

Huzzah, braaap order just arrived (ordered 24th)
Only small bits like a foam filter and castle nut, fuel tank rubbers

Now I move on with build a bit more

I grabbed some teflon rod off ebay ( Teflon ROD 25mm Diameter X 10cm Long | eBay ) for shock bushes - and thought of making engine mount bushes as well?
After that I finally went into my bearing place for couple 110mm bolts and found plain Nylon rod 30cm for $10 - got that as well

Grabbed some sintered pads from china

I can use the old 280mm shock with current frame until I work out what to do with one of the fastace ends
Will probably nylon/teflon the 260mm shock for other frame later when I need it



I'm confused about how I mount the peg mount to cradle / motor
The cradle bars on mine aren't lined up, do I put the peg bar under left - over right? (roughly 2.5mm difference)

Think you'll need to sit the engine in and measure it up then.

Bash plate will make up the difference on the front

All in and done up, will put a washer above the front bolts though (engine > pegmount > washer > cradle)

Good point about the bash plate.. Have to see if slotting it is feasible - otherwise gotta get another one

EDIT: bashplate fitted via hacksaw, need to grab some longer bolts tomorrow

Need a muffler, old is probably 28mm - need 32
Still haven't managed to modify manifold enough to clear frame - was going to get mate to reweld it, but he's done a hip or pelvis on his mountain bike

Manifold success!*

Before it was hitting the round part of the choke, now its just stopping the lever from fully closing

Chopped my stator cover

Fuel routing ok?

Wiring, may need more finess, CDI was hitting plastics - but I think mine are a bit warped

Have to grab some filter oil - do you spray it before fitting or after?
Cut and fit chain - cant see this being easy

With the chain adjust your axle so that the rear wheel is as far forward as it'll go.
Then fit the chain and mark which pin you want to cut it at
Remove the chain and grind the head of the pin and a bit of the link
Then put a pin punch on the centre of the ground pin with the chain sitting over a vise, have the vice open just enough for the pin the fit through when you punch it out.
Knock it through as far as you can, then bend the link on the other side and slip the pin out with the offcut of chain
Pretty easy, just don't cut it too short, measure it twice, make sure the chain is sitting over the front roller and through the rear guide.

Do you have chain oil too ? don't forget to oil it before fitting it

CDI mounting rubber usually have 2 or more slots to mount them onto the tag on your frame, and can be turned 90° so that the wiring is coming out the bottom, straight down

Spray the filter oil onto the filter before it's fitted, don't get it on the inside of the rubber flange where it sits on the carby, it can make the filter slide off the carby.
Don't over tighten the clamp either, it can split the rubber flange, just do it firm enough to hold the filter on.


Is your carby flange threaded ?
It looks like the nuts are missing from the side you can see in the pic above.
The choke lever, you could grind the corner off it so it opens properly if you need to.

That's a neat welding job of the manifold too !!

I'm pretty close now, gotta put weight on and do a but more tension

Oiled filter, oiled chain, oiled engine (800mm ATM)

Clutch doesnt seem to make any difference while unloaded

I finally rode it, think I need to tension the chain a bit more - its quite slappy
