how to get more power out of my 150 orion pit bike

i've aready put a bigger sprocket on it and it made a big difference witch helps. but i can't pop a wheelie without haveing to drop the clutch.

A power wheelie on a 150cc china? Prob not gonna happen..... if u want more power get a full size 250 dirt bike ya ****ski

not a power wheelie though? U probably lean back a shed load or bounce the front... I sure as hell cant power wheelie either of my 125's

oh yeah ya have to sit back on the seat and im not sure what shed load means but ya gotta pull up a bit sick150 ya probably just need to practise.
"practise makes perfect":)

wheelie

hey guys i can get it up without droppin clutch but i can't keep it up that's all.

( i'm makin my own pit bike track at home and thinkin about openin to the publik)

I am gald you can get it up..............not being able to keep it up might be a problem for your girl.

I dunno ... sitting on my seat with straight arms, my 140 "china" will power wheelie (front wheel steady at about 4" off the ground) for the whole rev range in 2nd gear no probs and again in 3rd with a little bar pull to begin it. But that's on grass. And that's only after I put the Akunar A1 cam in it. The A1 makes this a piece of piss, since the torque delivery is pretty constant from low to mid revs. So the front wheel just floats as you go.

I have 15:39 sprocket gearing, and I weigh 73kg. I also have an OKO26 carb which works unreal, and an Akunar coil. I had a "race" CDI at one stage, but it did little, and died after about 4 hrs running time. The engine pumps it out really nicely. eg. I can stiffen up my comp dampening and float over 1 foot high by 1m long woops in 3rd gear with just 3/4 throttle. Stoked!

I don't believe it will wheelie off the ground without using any force to lift it besides torque. It just isnt possible for suck a small engine.

Straight arms, sit, and open it up. I'll try and get some video evidence. Maybe I used a tad of clutch. I'll have to take note of my clutch finger next time out. Keep in mind the A1 is a bottom end cam, and my carb works. The engine is very snappy. The bike and I don't weigh much. Also I dont have the usual jack-hammer (1000 lbs/inch) rear spring, so my rear can squat a little - like a normal dirt bike.

with your crf50 for sure not:p :p ..but mine go up in 2nd and third..no problem!!...and I weight a bit more than he does:eek:

I beg to differ. My 140XR does power wheelies very easily in 2nd (with normal seating position) it would do a bit better too if my rear tire stopped slipping :p

Yeah traction helps. Last weekend I was on a lawn on my SR, new cam installed, sitting and opening the throttle floating the front wheel and I clearly recall thinking "hey this is a bit easy and cool!". Tues+Weds I am going riding again with my kids (school holidays) and some friends and I'll take better note of what my SR can and cannot do power-wise.

MM, Have you thought about rear tyres types/options? If not, it makes a huge diff. I am happy with my Pirelli MX Scorp rear on medium and hard surfaces. I just got one for the front too (which I'll use in hard slippery stuff). With some detergent I can change a tyre in about 10mins. That's with a rim lock, and many guys can do MUCH faster.

I also want to properly weigh my bike. I friend has a Yam TTR125L with an open exhaust and my SR140 when new was substantially quicker than his TTR125. Now with my A1 cam, valves, alum slinger, carb and better suspension, my SR just hammers his TTR, with equal rider weight. His bike is about 78kg (we think) and my SR is maybe 65kg. I also think his heavy flywheel just kills his TTR's acceleration and his has never checked his valves clearances.

i've tough of getting a new rear. i wont bother untill i wear my current carlsbad out, then ill put on a MX Scorp.
I only wish i could see your monster in person:(
The level of awesomeness for this bike is off the scale:D

I dunno if you are taking the piss out of me or serious. If taking the piss out of me then I can understand why and how I might sound. :)

It does not look fancy at all. Well all SRs look pretty good. Mine is just well sorted out, but the diffs are mostly felt and not so much seen. What impresses me is the value in some china bikes if you put in some effort. I love my KX450F, and it is a *very* healthy bike, but for the price my SR just makes me so happy. I must admit I don't mind working on the details.

eg. I recently had my rear shock re-oiled. It helped a lot. On a track where in a mid RPM 4th gear 'S' bend section section, I would normally drift the outside of each right+left bend and rely 100% on the edge ruts to keep me on the track with throttle open, I now don't drift out. And the engine has more grunt than before. It was really weird. That's just a shock re-oil and gas with quality oil. No valving change. Bouncing off the edge ruts probably looks faster - but in this case not.

I cannot rave about the Akunar A1 cam and valves enough. Maybe my cam bearings will die as themountain cautioned, but I do not rev it hard or keep used oil in the engine for long. Maybe I got a bit lucky with my OKO26 jetting and this cam. The Lifan 140 doesn't like to rev to the moon in any case, but with this cam you never need to. Last weekend after each ride I would come back to the car/camp and think "this just cannot be" and "this cannot last". I honestly thought the engine cannot be putting out this kind of grunt. Not a $250 engine + $100 carb and about $100 on head parts. Of course it's output is not 450F MX scary or anything. It just has enough grunt that I don't need to ride it wide open all the time so I have more options. For sure some guys could/would ride my bike wide open, and they'd probably love it too. On this site, I've explained everything I did to my SR, and it's all basic and not much. It'd be easy for anyone to replicate and enjoy/verify.
