I read another post about somone who was going to bring some in, i think it was a similar engine but im not sure sounds like the one being talked about in this post. i dont need any one else to go in the deal so it just depends on the price they give me, judging buy the things ive read i think at the right price they be a sought after simple and total lifan upgrade for any pit bike.
cheers motodad:cool:

how much are they going to cost us and who makes them

yep straight from the Lifan factory , i think they have a steel barrel but that will be ok, if you want to run a alloy barrel you will just have to KLX 110 sleeve it, this will not be my race bike motor just weekend worrier bike. I have had reports from a few people who are running them and they say they absolutely kill the 138. It will be interesting to see what they can be taken out to, i have a 57mm piston on its way will be great if it fits that will make it a 150.55cc, inner rotor , big cam, port and this should make a rocket ship. I will keep you posted on it

Do you have this info from the Lifan factory rep?

i'm just about to dig into this one and see if it isreally is a 55x59 and yes it did come with a steel barrel. I will let you know how it goes mack

Lifan factory has made no mention of any motor close to those specs coming from them. There are many others modifying their motors though. All sorts of parts are being thrown at these motors by other Chinese exporters. Mostly older stock and designs bought for the right price then made desirable for the west by making big cc's anyway they can. This is why I ask If you are positive this is from Lifan.

i will contact my supplier in China, but you could be right as the 138cc lifan's i was getting from him had 56mm bores and all the other ones i have seen here are 54mm , anyway this new motor should haul

Ok to answer a few questions. im not sure on the price, as i said in the other post im waiting for their reply. I have asked for a price on 100 units to try and get the cost down. Im pretty sure they are not coming from lifan directly and it looks like they are the same engine as the one in the link posted by andy600rr
even the part # xy is the same.
when am i going to have them? in about 4 to 5 weeks if every thing is right
so we will just wait and see
cheers motodad:cool:

Dont worry Motodad43, I'm not about to cut your lunch and bring these in myself. I just had a feeling that I knew where I had seen that part number and motor spec before...... keep us posted.

yeh i should be up for one if they are the right price

Like I posted before, be careful of some of these engines modded by bike assemblers. Some of their descriptions aren't accurate like the high comp piston making only standard compression. That would just have a standard piston. What else is BS.

Check this guy, I'm guessing is fitting inner rotors...high tech workstation and quality control.

I would seriously doubt the authenticity of this motor as described.

High compression piston...(only quoted CR 9:2)
Balanced crank (yeah right...)
Race cam ( just like all the race cams installed at Lifan...lol !)
Ported head (show me!)
Port matched manifold (REALLY)
Strengthened gears! (okay now I'm getting suspicious)

The ones pictured certainly don't have an alloy cylinder either, although this mob don't claim to.

motodad's engines seem ligit they have all the quality parts on it what engine are you talking about mack

hey motodad are you thinking of omprting anything else from xy as they have quality shock, swingarms and brake assemblys as well though i would think these would be harder to sell as the market is prob smaller still sick parts i would certainly keen for them

I am talking about that 140.

Like I said, I would seriously doubt that these motors are anything other than a completely stock motor which has been fitted with a china rotor kit and supplied with the china race cdi, a cheap oil cooler and 28mm clone carby.
All the other claims made about these motors, I suspect is just sales pitch.

Hey roost that 59 x 55 motor does exist.

sorry i did not reply earlier . Ok here it is i said they where 55x59 the actual size is 54x 59 that makes it a 135.2cc . they are stamped 140cc. Has any one had a look at the 140cc in the motovert ,i wonder if they are really 140cc(probally not) but the main thing is it has a 59mm stroke giving these motors real protentional . Slowly getting my new build done. I have gone for a 57mm piston
