hi there guys...

i have installed a 138cc motor into my mini and i am now used to the power and want something more.. and i have purchased myself an irk and slinger.. but upon purchase i have been informed that all i need to install into the 138 is the irk only as th 138's dont require the slinger, asthe 138s already has a lightened one??

can someone please clarify this with me.. i dont wanna to the install until i get all the correct info on this

thanks

goody

Just take the engine cover off that houses the oil slinger and see if the new one u have is smaller.. if its smaller whack it in!

You don't need a lightened slinger.

how would u know???
have u had expierience with either the slinger or irk.........

nah dude wack the new slinger in ur old 1 will be stock

..but if its an old one a irk will bust his engine in notime!:p

BTW...a IRK don´t do anything to get MORE power...the delivery is only quicker;)
If you want more uummpf you need to get a bigborekit:D

Wives tale - never seen an irk stuff a motor. I run an irk in my 138cc motor with out a sling for ages (till motor gearbox died) and i rev the ring hole out of my bikes.

Also fitting an irk DOES give slightly more power. You remove weight from crank = less power requried to spin the crank = more power available for other things, like turnin the cogs...

I'd go as far as saying that if you dynoed the bike befor and after an irk, there would be a noticable gain in HP. I'm not saying 50% increase but surly you'd see a few % difference.

Keen to know mountain how many motors you've been thru to back up your claims.

So after reading the replys I reckon my answer is the best hahaha... cause everyone thinks they are an expert in the internet... except me lol

I'm no expert but have been thru more motor configurations/china bikes than most here and I can say from experience that Abuse/incorect fitment of any proformance part is usually the sole reason for a failure. IRK on non-start in any gear motor won't hurt it. (urban myth says that the inbalance between the clutch & IRK/slinger & IRK snaps cranks. Take out your clutch basket & Std Stator flywheel and weigh them - myth dismissed)
What will hurt it is you reving the ******* out of it, once you find that an IRK revs like a twostroke.

I'm no expert .....QUOTE]

but for sure you write like you had invented pitbiking..:p

Again you have completely failed to back up what you have said. I'm over people getting on here and having a bad experience with one thing and claiming it is the worst item/product in the world. If you've had experience (good bad or other wised) with a product - tell the world but don't imply that it is the WHOLE product range unless you've tried at least a few and had the same problem under the same conditions.

As for inventing pitbike are you a complete f*uckwit or what?

And as for experience, I'm 33 (how old are you) been playing with pitbikes for 2-3 years (big bikes add another 10yrs) and have spent well more than 12g on (china) parts alone then there is all the bikes. (see some here )

Why I get dragged into this I don't know. Guess I'm inexperienced at the internet. - My two cents

Dunno bout the 138 sorry. but I do know that an inner rotor gives no more power. Only gets to its peak hp quicker.

The story goes..that an inner rotor installed on a crank with a cast clutch basket swinging off the other end, can and will, explode the basket. And billet baskets were/are sold for this purpose. However, this seems to occur just beyond where the majority of China engines are revving too and I have not heard of any failures in them. But have not known of too many mounted on these crank clutch engines either.

well said (never had a clutch basket die on me, and i rev till valves bounce.)

It´s not happening only with the crankmounted clutches...its happening with normal oilslingers also !!;)

Dude you really need to stfu sometimes.

Brian from Maylands has repeatedly said you DO NOT NEED to run a lightened slinger.
