was checking over the 155 today and found a very loose timing chain.
i took it out and have found that it is almost 1 link longer than it is supposed to be.

so i pulled the head off as well just to suss things out.
the valves don't look like they've touched the piston

so the timing chain stretched then? can you get heavy duty timing chains?

i wanted to check the timing so turned the flywheel, and heard a noise in the head
when i checked it out, i saw it was the cam chain skipping the teeth on the cam gear

i'll just use the one out of the YX for the moment.

i paint stripped the YX head today too, it's almost ready to go onto the 155.

i picked up my new grips today, Troy Lee/ODI's $17

here is the length difference in the stretched cam chain(top) and the low hours cam chain (ex YX160 bottom)

YX160 head is cleaned up, and the piston etc

just about
YX head is on, just need to refit the stator, manifold, carby etc then bolt it in the Fuse

i started cleaning up the Z155HO head last night, thought i'd deshroud the valves to help the flow.
then the grinding stone spent a little time down in the runners, it's a start for now.
and this morning i gave the combustion chamber a polish up with Autosol to see how much more work it needs there

the 155 head is close on ready now, ports are cleaned up, exhaust polished
ready to give the valves/seats a lap and it's done
