Blue smoke could be too much oil, or your piston rings not sealing enough and allowing oil to get into your combustion chamber, or you breather hose (at the rear of the engine) could be kinked

I wouldn't say to much oil, As when the bike is upright the oil is at the top and when it's on the stand it is around the bottom of the sighting glass.

I've had to much oil before and it smoked a lot more than this.
I'm 99% sure it would be wrong mixture, if that is something incorrect air/fuel mixture could cause.

my Lifan 150 smoked a little after starting up, not long after i had run it in.
then as it got more use the blue smoke stopped

to check the plug you'll need to do a chop,
WOT in 3rd/4th for a minute and shut it down, then you'll get a more accurate colour.

Spark is white/blue

Main problem is I don't have enough room to do a plug chop, Maybe 150-200m max.
How high does it need to rev in the plug chop? eg. Quite high or like rev limiter high?

Can I have the brakes on to slow me down a bit so the engine works hard for a bit longer?

You need to do a run at atleast 3rd gear, WOT (Wide Open Throttle) and preferably up a slight incline. If you dont go to WOT the spark plug won't reach its self cleaning stage and you wont get an accurate reading.

200m should be fine....just give it the beans in 3rd for as long as you can before you have to slam the brakes on so you dont hit the shed, or fishtank, dam, what ever it is in your way!!

nah i doubt it would clean up after 200m, maybe 500m and flat out in 3rd gear full throttle
do it a few times to get the engine hot then pull the plug out and check the colour
and you would need to be using a brand new spark plug

I think I need to do my rings, I got some water in my fuel (coincidental)

And now I have quite low compression, I can't see it being anything else really as it all seems good (I've also been getting some blue smoke)

I don't want to spend much on the Atomik anymore after buying a Husaberg so would these rings fit?
AS High Quality 5

have you tried adjusting your valves again since noticing a compression drop ?

Haven't checked the valves yet, Do you think it might be that?

I can't even start it now. Checked and I still have spark, Plus I cleaned the carby and drained all the old fuel and put new stuff in

yeah if you haven't done them since you bought it, definately do them asap

i did them probably 5-6 hours ago and it all happened very suddenly, I thought they went out of spec gradually

I'll check them than come back

Well, after getting back from holidays i've cleaned the carby and all...

Anyway the bike was performing fine for about 45 minutes through heaps of mud and deep water
Then when it was idling it just died

Each time I kick it, It does fire but only for maybe half a second... Doesn't matter how much throttle you hold on...
Everyone is probably saying blocked jets, but it doesn't feel like anything i've experience before.
And I had just flushed out the tank before this ride.

pull the plug lead off the spark plug and pull the plug out.
fit the cap to the plug earth it and kick it over, see if the spark is consistant.

or try draining the carby, loosen the bottom screw on the fuel bowl and drain it into a clean ice cream container etc,
see if there is any dirt/etc in it ?

Sure enough, I wasn't getting spark....
I sprayed WD-40 over the connections and I have spark again?

Was there mud making a bad connection?

yeah maybe some corrosion has started on the brass terminals
i guess you didn't use any dielectric grease on them ?

That would be correct, Most of the connections are Molex type connections, how would you apply grease to those?

put some dielectric grease on the end of a flat bladed jewelers screwdriver and spread it onto the male terminals in the plug, then connect it into the female socket
