Dont use the airbox, get a uni filter

PE28's are exactly the same price from braaap as they are everyone else. You can also use the standard manifold that the bike came with and buy an adaptor.

aaah ok i get what ya saying mate, took me a bit haha. i dont really mind porting the original manifold out as its a lot higher, gets my filter further away from the wet stuff. plus i want a dremel anyways so i can do some port work in the future. just sucks cause i wanted a ride today but hey, no one gets want they want all the time lol.
phil, i couldnt buy the 28mm carb from braaap, its not even listed in their online parts store and the nearest braaap store is a hour and a half drive from my house. il scrap the airbox if you think i should, only reason i wanted to keep it was because of the trail riding i do. it gets freakin wet down here and thought that the air box may have saved the filter in some of the puddles.

No dramas, I get easily confused, wasn't sure if it was just me :p With the dremmel, make sure it is a dremmel brand, when i first got my bike I brought a Ryobi to port the inlet manifold, the first one had the motor burn out in a week (maybe 3hrs of work) the 2nd replacement died in 2 days (snapped the snake extension) then paid the difference and got a dremmel (mind you i broke the snake in the first hour of use....again) then got it replaced that afternoon, to a rather surprised sale person LOL and haven't had a drama since. Also, when using the snake attachment hang the unit up so the snake doesn't bend anywhere, if that makes sense, iv'e learnt my lesson LOL

lol, things have been hectic at home to so i wam easily confounded atm :) yeah i will get the proper one, im not to keen on constant replacing of parts etc. rather just pay the extra and be done with it ;)

so mail man bought me a few goodies

so i through it all on real quick (still waiting on the jet kit from ch50's) not even expecting it to start but had no worries starting it at all :)
will let everyone no what jetting i finish up on (i have had a big hint from someone on here on what to run) see how it compares to what others are running. from the blip test i did i need to put in a leaner pilot (already ordered) and i got 4 sized jets to play with, from 115 through to 122. main jet in the keihin now is a 135 so i already no that has to go ;)

o and for those running oko adapters, turf the o ring and just use a gasket. stops the ends warping and you still get a great seal.

yeah mate, bought a smile to my face when she fired up ;) definitely got to sort out a better exhaust, the ycf one is loud, but not a overly nice note to it.

Man I gotta get me one of these.

So sick of jetting problems with my bike.

That's next on the never ending list.

haha that was me mate ;)
what jetting/carb are you running atm on the 184 motorman?
on a side note im a little worried about the protaper chain i got. it says on the box recomended for 50 to 125cc and rated to 5000lbs. the rating means nothing to me but do they mean 125 four strokes or two strokes? guess il find out if the 190 stretches it then they only meant four's lol. im hoping that being japan made they would be able to handle the torque from the big girl

It might be because of an assumption this will be run on that kind of bike as I believe the 125cc-50cc generally came with 420 running gear. This is quoting something I remember Craig saying....

Not sure on the jets but Craig has upped all of mine except the foxico's. I think he generally goes like +2 on the main jet and +5 on the other one....but really I have no idea! He'll know whats right though. I'll have to get back to you on the shock mate, cant afford it atm. Already spent to much money that I dont have! I think try put it on ebay for like $400 with the offer tab, someone will give you $350 for it! Just package it up and pick the farthest place in Australia to post it, then put it up for $2 more postage, to cover bubble wrap and tape, I pretty much got 75% of retail back for my last BMX that I parted out!!!

its all good on the shock bro, if it doesnt sell il sell something else to get the funds for my zorst lol. im pretty sure the 65 two strokes run 420 chains, doesnt worry to much just thought someone might have been able to shed some light on it. il see how it goes, at worst it will end up on callums bike when i put the 160 in. little swamped with working on three bikes atm but il get there. my shed is a mess but il find some order in the chaos one day ;)

Sounds like my shed at the moment. Bikes in bit's everywhere. lol

Your right the 65 up to 85 2 strokes run 420 chains.

Time to get some Renthal ones for my LXR as tired of breaking them.

I would just put your shock on ebay mate. It will sell easy.

im gunna be runnin a 428 chain on coolies roller!
yeah they are more pricey but they last longer!!! like a condom i guess... just that you dont want use over time and time again....

I would advise against it dude unless you get new bolts for your hub and even then it will clap it out.

A good quality 420 pitch chain will last just as long as a 428.

my bike atm is runnin the china kmc 428 chain... only tightened it 4 times over the 2 years ive had it.... it would have to have 25hrs on it...

My wifes bike is in the same boat. Not sure what brand, but it's still the original from 2+ years ago. Just check tension b4 each ride and give it an oil and they should last a while.

the stock kmc on mine has done better than i expected, im just replacing it to be sure as i have snapped a few kmc's. what does everyone use for chain lube? the stuff i have been using is real bad for trapping dirt and crap in the chain.... i have to clean the chain every ride atm...

Castrol Chain lube is really good, it doesn't attract dirt and doesn't flick off either.

Supercheap sell it, and sometimes have it on special with the Castrol Air Filter oil (also really good), both cans for $12
Castrol Chain Oil - 250g - Supercheap Auto Australia

i have been using it for years,
a mate and i went riding last year at Swan Reach in the sandy dirt, me on my IT200, him on his CRF450.
at the end of the weekend his chain was coated thick with sand/dirt, mine looked like it had just been oiled.
