that bloody site doesnt have daytona listed as a manufacturer........ hmmmm bit weird considering the daytona manual quotes a ngk er9eh spark plug as factory.

er9eh is the NGK part number.

Just looked it up in my system at work.

Go to a Burson store and ask for the iridium version of that part number. They will have them.

You cannot be serious, how fast is that bike. Awesome man Awesome

That is some serious power for a 190 engine

thanks for the links craig :) im not a big fan of the auto de comp on the cam, can i run this without replacing the cam with a non auto de comp?

yeah turkey the anima's are a absolute weapon. let a mate ride it yesterday, he is a road bike man, and he swears my bike would do his lams honda 250 in a drag, it scared the crap out of him :)

its possible... but the way the cam sprocket and cam bolt mech, the way they work is different....... depending on the bolt pattern and other stuff.. you may be a to use the last gen daytona 150's cam setup.. but use the 190's cam.. or a upgraded 190 cam.... so it depends... really... you could get parts made up at you local engineering shop... but one offs usually cost more then what you would pay for if you made a couple.... so...

hmmm, seems like more hassle than its worth, i thought someone may have done it already. im just scared of cracks around the kicker bearing in the case. ive had it kickback on me twice so far, and it scares the crapper outta me that im gonna look down and see oil seeping through a nasty crack

doesn't that mean its not quite ran in yet? my bike use to that so much when it was new... now nothing of the sort...
if you reckon the kicker bearing is gunna crap itself... you could go down to your local bearing shop with the dimensions that the bike has on it now... you could spend 10-35 bucks on a reasonable jap bearing...

could be, the engine is still fairly new. i cant remember if advancing the timing helps kick back, or makes it wosre (cue craig chiming in around now ;) ) but im still on the base settings for the timing and rev limit so i hope advancing it helps not hinders

Retarding it a little should help.
Are you kicking it from just past TDC ?

Is the decomp mech fixed to the cam or will it seperate if tiu take the bolts out, remove it then fit shorter bolts?

I'm out atm, so can't be stuffed searching sorry.

The decomp should make the kickback less though.

I've learnt a good new lesson actually! You dont even need to 'kick' these chinese motors. They're like my mower you just give it a good push(or pull when talking about the pull start mower).

I started the 160 today, kick through lightly till you feel it hit tdc. Then just push down not even hard!! I started the 160zo like that today. I started the foxico like that yesterday...its so easy if you just do it from the right spot! Is that why some people like those clear magneto covers cause they cant feel tdc?

it is easy to start just past TDC, because you are kicking it over after the compression stroke/spark has happened, as you push down on the kickstarter it is only drawing fuel/air in, then the next stroke it goes to the compression stroke, before it is about to fire
so kicking the engine over past TDC, has given it momentum getting it spinning over and it wont be sparking while you are kicking

if you just kick it from anywhere, if it is just about to fire and does, it can give you a big kickback
the minimum damage it does is a huge shock through your kickstart gears
usually the weakest point is the Idler gear in between the kickstart and clutch gears

im doing my utmost to kick it from just past tdc, but its hard for me to gauge. the two times its kicked back on me i thought i had found it and then bang nearly broke my ankle.... i have never had problems with my other bikes, the hi comp gpx was easy as to start (not kick though, they arent all easy to kick stu) im wondering if anyone else finds it difficult to find tdc on the anima's. i cant retard the timing anymore either craig its on its lowest setting now, and i really want to start advancing the timing to get a bit more kick up top. guess il just have to stop being a worry wart lol

advancing it will bring the power on at lower revs

so the 3x bolts that hold the stator to the backing plate are in the clockwise side of the slots then ?
