etch primer would only need maybe 2 light coats, about an 80% coverage to prime them
 
to nice, i will hit them with some paint when im not watching the v8's this weekend.

its great in one way s.a. stu, but at the same time keeping on top of three bikes maintenance wise can be a pain at times, especially to the wallet!!

Yeah I got two that I cant ride at the same time...practice??....yeah well you like the 'good stuff'...I've been around motor for a while not pit bikes but...if its reliable and decent its good...ze rest is up to the pilot!!! I'm not ****ting you Tassy Stu Id have 100k in the bank or a unit or something atm if I didnt race DH from 16-19....damn I wanna do some freaking jumps again...the mini WR is really not to heavy should be easy, im more scared of over jumping stuff...to much gusto...never good!!!
 
definitely getting some practice in then stu :) i may have some slightly expensive taste's but nothing on the boys running genuine crf stuff with all the two brothers/red baron/etc etc gear on it, that's what you call the 'good stuff' lol. If i tried kitting my boys out like that i'd be down more than my braaap is worth for one bike build ;)
get yourself a little bit of armour, might get the confidence back up, your mini wr would make a sick little jumper.
 
bit more progress made, and another problem lol. triples and risers look good......

however the bolts for the risers are just a little short :( have to head to the bolt shop tomorrow...

i think they look bloody sexy on the bike tho.......

 
big shout out to terry from firepowermini's, he was very helpful, and the bearings took only a week from america, and at a really good price compared to the local bike shop to.
 
they look a lot better than they were, good work !
the tripples look like brand new too.
 
yeah the triples came up tops. the forks look great from 3ft away its not until you get really close that you can see it needed another coat, but i put 2 light coats of primer and a light coat and heavy coat of the black so thought i better not push it to far. it's only the 2 bolts on the risers that's holding me back now. O, how good do the risers match the triples? the risers are anodized, triples i painted obviously ;)
 
so i need to clean a couple of ports out on the oko, but dont have any carb cleaner.... will wax and grease remover (basically prepsol) be fine, or will it mess with rubber seals etc...
 
nah should be ok, give it a good blow out after with compressed air
make sure the mixture screw, pilot jet, main jet, main jet tube, and choke are all out when you do it

One thing i didnt realise is that the 160 engines need a different bash plate to a gpx 125. Ahhhh there is always more to order....
 
yeah stoozo just cut the legs off his old one,
and the YX150 came with new legs but not a bash plate
so all he has to do is drill the mounting bolt holes through it.
 
thinking i will just cut one leg off, the other will line up fine and that will save my back pocket another expense until i can afford it lol. Spent a few hours on this today, starting to look pretty good
 
Yeah I realised afterwards I probably could have done that. Strange part is the 160 I have is standard bash plate fit....but it was in a pitpro where the yx was in a scooter so thats a weird mount!!

he doesn't sell scooters stu, why do you keep saying that ?
 
you said the same thing with my brake caliper?
he only sells off road stuff like pitbikes, petrol skateboards, quads and dune buggys.
he did have a scooter that someone took there for the scrap metal value one time.
 
I was dissing your caliper saying it was from a scooter...didn't think I implied dassa as I didn't know about him then!?
